Are you interested in Jewish learning with friends?
Are you looking to strengthen skills to participate (more) in services?
Did you miss out on celebrating becoming Bar/Bat mitzvah as a child?
Did you convert to Judaism and are looking for your next learning opportunity?
Did you have a Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremony at 13 but would like a renewed, fresh perspective on the experience?
Perhaps it’s finally time to give yourself this unique and unforgettable gift of Jewish wisdom.
During this 18 month course, Rabbi Sammy and Cantorial Intern Heather Seid will teach and learn with this cohort of individuals of varying learning levels to deepen all of our understanding and connection to Judaism and to strengthen our bonds with one another. In addition to strengthening (or starting) our Hebrew reading skills; our learning will cover a range of topics including Torah and other holy text, liturgy, mitzvot, theology, Israel, history, ritual, and so much more. By the end of the course, you can expect to be able to take on a Torah reading and lead part(s) of Shabbat services and feel steeped in Jewish learning in the context of friendship and community.
The course will culminate with an Adult B’nai Mitzvah Ceremony on Shabbat and the holiday of Shavuot (May 27, 2023) in which we will celebrate our learning together and with the whole community.
Learn more about Judaism and yourself in this once in a lifetime experience!
Beginning February 8th, 2022 the class will meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each Month (with some exceptions) from 6:30pm-8:00pm. Materials will be provided for each participant.
Price (members): $36
