A few words from Gina

Many many thanks for those who worked so hard to throw a party for me last Sunday. Gloria Ekelchik, Christa Mandel, Shari Michlovitz, Rae Harvey, Becky Henning, Leora Lazarus and others made my day, and made me cry.

IF you missed it, here is what I'd like to leave you with: Ner Tamid is like a jigsaw puzzle, its members are like the pieces, all different; unique.  Until all the pieces come together, it doesn't make a complete picture.  Maybe you are Friday night, or a Shabbatnik, Minyanaire, Rosh Chodesh, helping start the men's club, or maybe you could find a niche to contribute to, like helping Becky get ready for school holidays or coming in for the next Big Mitzvah day, but the picture is not complete without everyone/

You are all amazing and I love you!

I have made up cards with my contact information and left them in the office and at the table in front of the Sanctuary. For those who won't be able to stop by, you will be able to reach me at ginadwf@gmail.com, or Gina Preston Caplan on Facebook.  If you come out to the East Coast, please get in touch with me and let's meet up.  And I'll be back! My last day is May 31st.

Summer Schedule for Friday night

Beginning on Friday, June 2nd with Family Shabbat and Last Day of School, Friday night services will begin at 6:30pm.  Weather permitting, we will also begin having Friday night services on the patio.

Shavuot

Join Rabbi Caine and other Rabbis from around San Diego to study and celebrate Leil Shavuot Tikkun, May 30th at 7pm at the San Diego Jewish Academy. This year's topic is 6 Days that Shaped 50 years: Jewish Teachings and Perspectives on the 6 Day War and Its Aftermath.  No cost, no RSVP needed.

Ner Tamid will hold Shavuot Services on May 31st at 9:30am, with Yizkor at about 11am.

Ask the Doctor

The Ner Tamid Caring Committee is sponsoring 'Ask the Doctor', with Dr. Sol Finkelstein after Shabbat services on June 10th from 12pm-1pm.  Dr. Finkelstein has recently retired after 34 years  with Kaiser Permanente in their Department of Family Practice.  No appt, no co-pay, see you there!
